What is a "vodcast"?
Simply, a vocast is a lecture in video form. Instead of spending a large percentage of class time listening to a lecture and taking notes, students watch a video of the lecture outside of class. This allows students to pause, rewind, and fast-forward. Students are still responsible for taking guided notes. However, this will take much less time than it would in class for most students. This allows students to work on tasks and activities (that would normally be homework) in the classroom and receive help from their teachers and classmates.
In addition to vodcasts created by myself, there will be links to other already created videos and content on the web. (YouTube, Vimeo, History Channel, etc.) Many of these videos will be found on TED ED, a website where teachers can create lessons from various videos on relevant topics. For these videos students will watch the video then answer questions and contribute to discussions on the website.
